Self Portraits 1989-1999 is published in conjunction with Viviane Sassen’s exhibition “Mirrors & Portals” held at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris from 18.10.23 to 11.02.24
Bringing together more than 200 works and retracing 30 years of creation, Viviane Sassen – “Mirrors & Portals” offers an immersion in her photographic work, which mobilises intense colors, graphic games on light and shadow and surrealist aesthetics. The exhibition will bring together the artist’s iconic series – including “Umbra”, “Parasomnia”, “Flamboya” and “Roxanne” – and a selection of her fashion photographs, as well as her mixed media works combining photographic prints, paintings, collages and videos.
